World Orthopaedic Concern (WOC) is dedicated to improving the standard of orthopaedic and reconstructive surgery in all developing countries—in the tropics, subtropics, and anywhere where there is a need. We do this by educating Orthopaedic Surgeons, Orthopaedic Residents, Registrars, General Surgeons, General Surgery Residents, Medical Students, and paramedical personnel and technicians.
World Orthopedic Concern has members both in the so-called “developed” as well the “developing” world, both on the teaching and learning sides. We send experienced Orthopaedic Surgeons and Traumatologists to sites around the world, where their teaching expertise is needed. In addition to didactic teaching, they also do active surgical instruction in the operating theatre. We also organize teaching sites for Orthopaedic Surgeons from developing countries to receive short-term, specialized training.
